Oreo
Hi Kathy,
Sorry I have not been able to get around giving you a report on Corey (AKA
Oreo).
He is such a lively part to our family. He is our clown, herder, guard and
iMr. Lovable. It's taken some time to get him to totally trust us but with
lots of love he has acclimated well.Every evening he goes around doing a
house check to make sure we are all here and when he is satisfied he goes
under our bed. In the morning he goes to every room to once again take
inventory and greet us. Our Florida room has become his afternoon resting
place. I especially love coming home to him because he goes through his
little dance routine until we all greet him.
This Christmas after setting up the tree, he thought it was a great idea to
sleep under it. Well, what else is a tree for in the eye of a dog?! We
certainly are glad that he never messes the house and is well trained!
I would say that we are always working with him and see progress
constantly. Although Corey still has stranger anxiety, the more we have him
around loving and trusting people the less fear he has. I am so happy for
people like you that help these little creatures. My husband and I often
wonder what Corey must have gone through to be so scared of strangers.
The most difficult part of this journey has been finding reputable groomers
that really understand and love rescue dogs. After 4 tries including the
vet sedating him so that Corey could be groomed, we found one that right
from the introduction made Corey comfortable. The was such a blessing and a
relief for us!
Thanks to you and all those who are doing such a great job and taking care
of these forgotten animals,
