Jipsy
Hello!! Jipsy is now Gigi! Sheâs in the best home possible for her spunky attitude. She cuddles with our golden retriever and they run like horses in the backyard! When we got her we were told sheâs a Labrador retriever maybe mixed with collie or golden! And if thatâs so, then it shows in her coat! A few weeks after we got her she became this little Shirley temple with her curls. So weâre thinking sheâs more of the Collie or Golden than the Lab, like the rescue volunteers thought! We are planning on moving soon to a four acre farm in New Jersey, where Gigi and our six other animals can have the space that all animals deserve!
Ice Cream
Hi Kathy. All is well with the puppy formerly known as Ice Cream. Her name is now Lucy, which she knows well! She was a crazy little lady when she first came home but has now limited her teething to her toys instead of our shoes and furniture and no longer jumps on and bites us every time we come in the door or walk past her. We have her in training (she knows sit, stay, wait and leave it), and she's whip smart, doing very well. We take her to the Lake Ida dog park three or four times a week, and the beach a few times a week as well. She loves to chase tennis balls and other dogs, and has made many dog friends in our apartment complex too. The bigger the dog, the more she likes them--a doberman, a pit bull mix and a Rhodesian ridgeback being her favorites in our complex dog park. Lucy is loving, sweet and a wonderful addition to our family. It's been a great five weeks, and we're so grateful to see her sweet little face peeking at us over the edge of the bed every morning--even though it's 5:00am and she's the only one who's interested in going outside!
Here are a few pictures of Miss Lucy.
Our best,
Jeffrey and Errin
Julia Sugarbarker
Hello Kathy,
Sorry for the late response but I've been trying to find the time to sit down and write the perfect email and explain everything that we've experienced with Julia (AKA Blaze as in Blaze and the Monster Machines, my son's favorite show.)
Blaze is adjusting very well and we love her so much. She made herself right at home enjoying her new beds, toys, balls and our fenced-in backyard. She loves to go on walks and we have recently trained her on the bicycle so she can get all of her energy out. She loves to sunbathe in the backyard and be around us all the time. She is so great with my son and has really been a joy to have around. We started to notice a few things like her being a little nervous around other dogs and strangers that were coming to our home, she became very protective and scared so we wanted to make sure that we took the correct actions to help her with her issues. Therefore, she is currently in a 2-week training program over the holiday with some trusted friends that own a dog daycare/board and train business. They're working with her on her basic commands and helping her with her anxiety around people and dogs to try and make her a more confident dog so she's not so scared.
I have attached several pictures, probably overboard but we want you to see how happy she is and how happy she makes us. There are also a few and they're from her daycare training place so you can see how much fun they have and how well she is already doing and being around other dogs. Thank you again for reaching out and we will stay in touch with Blazes progress. Wishing everyone at Justin Bartlett a happy holiday.
Much Love,
The Ground Family
Sable
Sable's name is now Bailey and she is a wonderful addition to our family. She is very sweet and loving. She tries to eat our cat, Brady, but we know it is just puppy play. I have taken her to five puppy training sessions at Pet Smart, and she has learned basic commands. I have attached a couple of photos.
I have had her to your animal hospital three times for follow up immunizations, as well as for diagnosis of the skin problem on her rear haunches, but still no diagnosis to date. The scraping biopsy was done almost three weeks ago. I was told on adoption that it was a reaction to an immunization, but since then your vets feel this is unlikely. However, since it does not seem to bother Bailey, I am hoping it will just heal over time. Otherwise, her health has been fine, and she is now 30 pounds.
Thank you for the follow-up.
Regards,
Robin Fink
Ursa
Hi Kathy,
Ursa has been renamed Bailey. She is really enjoying her new family. We have taken her to the dog park a few times which she loved. We took her to the beach on Saturday and she had a ball. She even ran into another puppy that came from Justin Bartlett. The children absolutely adore her and she loves lounging on the couch with them and sleeping in the bed with them. You can't spoil a dog too much can you? LOL
Thank you so much for bringing Bailey into our lives.
