to me
Dear Kathy,
Thank you very much for your follow-up! Sorry for the delay in responding - Woody and I have been in Toronto for much of the year where I extremely busy helping to care for my 90 year old dad who is living with one of my sisters and has gone through some health crises lately; but he seems to be doing better lately, so I am finally finding a moment to get caught up on my emails!
Woody / aka Whitty or Whitlock, has been doing well but is still a very shy guy at heart, although he has bonded enough to enjoy jumping on my sister's bed for "petting" but only on his own terms and at his convenience! : ) Hopefully he will continue to gain more confidence and become more sociable as the years go by. Anyway, as you will see from the attached photo, (taken in June) he is growing up to be a very soft, fluffy, long haired, "rock star" beautiful cat with one gorgeous green and one gorgeous blue eye*! (*One of my sisters thought that I should rename him "Bowie" after David Bowie, but my other sister and I thought it would be better for him to stick to names that are closer to Woody)....Anyway, all is well with him and overall he has been a delight! I will try to send more recent photos when I get a chance.
With best wishes and regards to you and the entire J. Bartlett operation, very sincerely,
Lilia
Willow
Hi Kathy,
Willow is now "Shilo." She is very much loved and doing very well.
She had her first vet visit with Dr. Lund within her first week with us (13 weeks) and is very healthy.
At 17 weeks, she weighed in at 25 lbs, so continues to grow up fast!
She was quickly housebroken and crate-trained.
She responds to her name, SIT, STAY, COME (sometimes :-) and FETCH. We are working on leash walking and not jumping up on people so she can politely greet and make friends with everyone she meets on her walks through Delray. Work in progress on that!
Wonda
I adopted Wonda (now named Lucy) in November from you.
I'm sending you an update and pictures!
Lucy is over six months old now and 30lbs. She loves all people and all dogs and greets anyone who looks at her with kisses! It took her a few weeks to get used to the New York City noise but is now a true New Yorker. She is the only dog in my building and so all of the tenants have adopted her as their own and she has so many greeters every day that know her by name.
We spend most mornings before work at Central Park where she's made a little group of puppy friends. On the weekends we go to puppy school and to the dog park. She's made my studio apartment all her own with toys in every corner! Her favorite spot to sleep is next to me on the couch on my fur pillows.
I'm sending you a few pictures of her... We'll be back in palm beach next week. She's been on 5 flights so far and is the easiest travel companion.
Thank you for bringing her to me! She has changed my life and is the most amazing little girl I could have ever asked for.
Best,
Sara
Wesley
Dear Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue Team,
We adopted Wesley 3/18/17 and it has truly been the best decision we ever
made. We had been looking for a dog to adopt for almost a year. I wanted a
Golden Retriever and my husband wanted a small dog so it was hard to find a
compromise. I was watching your site regularly as well as many others
(i.e.Treasure Coast Humane Society). When I saw Wesley and the rest of his
litter on-line I fell in love immediately. They were all adorable but he
was just perfect. He is a Corgi Chihuahua but looks like a great deal like
a Golden Puppy. Since he is small (only 4 pounds at 3 months) my Husband
fell in love immediately as well. We found the application process through
the website very easy and efficient. I applied and had an answer within the
hour and was able to pick him up the next day...amazing! We wanted to name
him Kaline, after the old Detroit Tiger player, Al Kaline. So, his official
name now is Wesley Kaline Randall Parsons (WKRP...like the old TV show). It
suits him as he is a showman. He started puppy class Monday 4/17 and did
great even with all the big dogs around him. He's a puppy so he's
rambunctious but is also very loving and has an amazing personality. He
loves playing fetch and new how to do it from day 1. He loves bones and
treats so he's training easily. He already knows "drop it", "sit" and "no".
He doesn't always comply with "no" yet but he's getting better. He's super
smart already. Our biggest challenge has been getting our 17 year-old
feline fur baby, Sugar, and Kaline adjusted to one another They are getting
a little better all the time as well. Our family is extremely thankful for
the work you do that allowed us to be united with our newest fur baby.
I've attached a couple pictures of Kaline so you can see how he's doing.
He's the absolute cutest puppy I've ever seen. We love him beyond words!
Waldo
We love cookie so much! He is part of the family and we wouldn't know
what to do without him.
He likes to lick and lick and lick on us to show his affection back to us.
