Meet Gizmo or Sir Gizmo I should say! This purebred Persian was rescued by JB from a high kill shelter down in Miami in early May and we are trying to find Gizmo his new FUREVER home. His foster mommy wants to be sure Gizmo finds the purrfect home who knows how to properly care for a Persian cat.

Gizmo is a rare solid lilac Persian with gorgeous copper eyes. He was born on 10/10/15. He has been recently neutered, tested for FIV & FELV (negative) and updated on all shots. This handsome boy had to be shaved into a lion cut due to being SEVERELY MATTED. The matting led to some skin infections which have healed up nicely but it's possible that he may have a few bald spots where fur never grows back. Gizmo doesn't mind and when his gorgeous coat does grow back in you probably won't even notice the bald patches. Gizmo loves to eat canned and dry food. He has a big appetite and requires always having dry food available and getting canned food twice a day. He needs high quality food to avoid urinary blockage and crystals. He gets along great with other cats and dogs. He also loves people and craves attention. I'm not sure how he would do around small children because he does have the tendency to play rough however, I think he would be fine with older children who would respect his space when he desires it. He loves cat nip and playing with cat toys.

Due to Gizmo just recently being neutered he is still spraying and calling for female cats in the early hours of the morning. He usually starts around 4 am. We are currently in the process of working with Gizmo to stop these behavioral issues but it can sometimes take up to 8 weeks for it to stop. You can speak to his foster mom for more information.

Gizmo really needs someone who is going to work with him and give him time and space when needed. This poor boy was neglected once he wasn't such a cute little kitten. He is a little shy at first but once he gets to know you his personality comes out quickly. He is thriving at his foster's house despite being confined to a bathroom (this is due to the spraying). We would really like to find someone who loves and knows the Persian cat breed very well and can look past Gizmo's spraying and "cat calling". Gizmo must go into an experienced Persian cat home. Thanks so much for your interest in Gizmo!
